OUT OF THE PATTERN Animation “Out of the Pattern” is an animation illustrating the pop-up concept of the space of The Archive. | GLASNOST Installation
This project was created in September 2007 for the exhibition “Other Places” curated by Apostolos Kalfopoulos, for Biennale: 1. We were invited to present an artwork that would express the heterotopic space of the school, from the architect’s point of view. We created a PVC pattern of an existing old school that we placed as a hanging open envelope. The concept was to illustrate the need for an educational system that opens in order to interact to the society around it. | ILI&KTIRIO Articles
Between 2005 and 2007 we wrote a series of architectural articles for Ili & Ktirio magazine. |
BETWEEN THE LINES Architectural Competition REIMBURSEMENT Architectural Team: Korina Filoxenidou, Apostolos Kalfopoulos and Katerina Kotzia In 2005, the Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement organized an architectural competition for the transformation of the face and character of the Movement’s branch offices all over Greece. The concept should be applied in an 80 square meter ground floor space with a glass facade. A number of triangular self-lit columns were placed in free formation in order to create a border between the glass façade and the rest of the space. The green sun, which is the symbol of the Movement served as the main graphic element. Each column had a small part of the sun pasted on each one of its edges. The image of the sun was clear from a distance but it was gradually deconstructed as one entered the space. |
K&K ARCHITECTS OFFICE Interior Design | W(A)NDERLAND Short film
Created by: Fotini Filoxenidou, Korina Filoxenidou, Katerina Kotzia and Thomas Takas This is a short film we did in May 2000 while we were working on the Architectural Installation at Olympion Theatre. It was presented together with nine other short films all made by architects, especially for “Megacities”, a film tribute to Architecture. | 15 MINUTES OF FAME (2) Short Film by K.K. “I am not tired” 15 minutes of fame is a 30’’ video serving as its creator’s personal advertisement in a hypothetical job interview. The ad would replace the common portfolio with a more direct self-presentation that would reveal the essence of each candidate’s qualities. The project was created as an assignment for the postgraduate course MA Design Studies in Central Saint Martin’s, in 2000 |

The aim of this project was the creation of an innovative communication medium. At that time we used to live with an adolescent cat that was very anxious to find a way outdoors. We decided to build a green porous cylindrical bridge, connecting the 3rd floor flat with the ground floor back yard. The ladder had a switch on, which, when pressed by the cat, it activated a red lamp in the living room. This was the cat’s way to tell us he was back home. The project was created as an assignment for the postgraduate course MA Design Studies in Central Saint Martin’s, in 2000 |
